An 18-year-old man from East Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including causing damage to no fewer than 8 vehicles overnight. It’s understood that a large number of cars were damaged to varying extents in the vicinity of Beatrice Avenue at around 22:00 last night (Saturday). Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that an arrest has been made in relation to the criminal damage, which is part of a wider incident. The 18-year-old remains in custody at Newport Police Station this afternoon on suspicion of threats to kill, criminal damage, possession of a controlled drug of Class B and assault by beating. Enquiries remain ongoing.
