A failure of the sewage system is the latest reason for cancellations on Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service between East Cowes and Southampton. Red Funnel says that the 12:00 sailing from Southampton and the 13:30 from East Cowes have both been cancelled today (Sunday). A failure in the sewage system on board Red Eagle has been blamed for the disruption. It’s unclear at this time if there will be further cancellations or delays throughout the day. It’s been a bad week for the cross-Solent operator with numerous delays and cancellations owing to a number of different reasons. Wightlink and Hovertravel have also experienced their own technical issues – in what is a critical week as the Summer holidays get underway. UPDATE @ 13:20 – Red Funnel has now cancelled the 15:00 sailing from Southampton.
