The Isle of Wight home of former Olympian Sir Ben Ainslie is up for sale for a mammoth £3,495,000. 5-time Olympian Ainslie and his family have lived at Woodlands Vale near Puckpool, on the outskirts of Ryde, for some time but are now looking to sell up as the multiple gold medallist’s attention turns to the America’s Cup. The 9-bedroom, 7-bathroom property, frequented by Queen Victoria, is available to purchase for a whopping £3,495,000. The price of the property has been significantly reduced since it was brought to market with a guide price of £4.5million back in early 2023. Built in 1870 for Lord Calthorpe, the Grade-II listed property also boasts 5 reception rooms, numerous outbuildings, a self-contained flat and a considerable 28.75 acreage. There is also a swimming pool, billiard room and croquet lawn to boot. Ben Ainslie won gold medals at the 2000 (Sydney), 2004 (Athens), 2008 (Beijing) and 2012 (London) Olympic Games. He won silver back in 1996 (Atlanta). It is understood that a busy schedule means that Ainslie and his family aren’t actually at the house as much as they would like to be.
