Officers investigating a serious assault in Shanklin on Friday evening have charged 36-year-old Aaron David Caley. As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called just after 18:20 on Friday (21st June) after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed in the seaside town. The incident took place outside Shanklin Conservative Club near the junction with Cross Street, High Street and Regent Street. Caley made off from the scene after attacking the victim before armed police officers located him on nearby North Street. The area where the attack took place was immediately cordoned off. During the altercation, a man in 50s sustained injuries to his back and arm and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital. Now, some 2 days later, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that Aaron David Caley, 36, of Pellhurst Road, Ryde, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place. He has been remanded to appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Monday).

Wounding with intent? Surely attempted murder would be more appropriate.
Only if he intended to kill him… Once they’ve investigated, things may change!
100%. I believe WI is easier to prove and get a conviction from. Can carry the same sentence as attempted murder also. Attempted murder means they have to evidence the motive to murder but failed. Very hard to prove, but WI is easy as the act alone is the proof
I go walkies and burp
