RED FUNNEL CANCEL FRIDAY NIGHT FERRIES AS TECHNICAL ISSUE HITS

Red Funnel has been forced to cancel 2 of its Friday evening sailings due to yet more technical issues with its Raptor-class ferries. It’s said that a technical issue with the forward main engine on Red Falcon has led to the cancellations. The 20:00 from Southampton and the 21:30 from East Cowes have both been pulled. It’s unclear at this early stage if any further sailings will be cancelled either today or across the weekend. Tonight’s disruption comes after delays of between 15-25 minutes today due to high volumes of traffic. Red Funnel says that it could be another 4 years before replacement vehicle ferries are operational on the East Cowes-Southampton route.
