Reports of a man approaching 2 girls in suspicious circumstances led to Police responding to the town of East Cowes last night (Saturday). Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted to the suspicious incident at 21:37, with information received that members of the public had followed a male back to a residential address – thought to be on Sylvan Avenue. Officers attended and spoke to all parties involved. No criminal offences were identified, however, Police say they will continue to respond to any reports of suspicious incidents and concerns in the community to establish the circumstances and take any necessary follow-up action. Although there have been a few suspicious incidents reported on by Island Echo lately, it’s not thought there is a link between the individual incidents.
