UPDATED: Police are this afternoon (Saturday) undertaking a search on Tennyson Down, Freshwater following the discovery of a bike.
Officers are searching the cliff edge and the surrounding areas whilst the National Police Air Support helicopter conducts a sweep of the coast.
Island Echo understands a push bike has been discovered at the Tennyson Monument.
UPDATE @ 18:00 – HM Coastguard Rescue Teams have also been involved in the search.
It is currently unknown if there is any connection to an outstanding missing person from Romsey.
UPDATE @ 20:10 – It has been confirmed Police are searching for a missing 54-year-old man from Freshwater.
