Residents at Orchard House Care Home in Newport recently marked National Relaxation Day with a truly memorable afternoon of calm, connection, and wellbeing.
The celebrations began with a classic favourite, fish and chips for lunch, before residents gathered for a special sound bath session, led by Mel
With the gentle resonance of gongs and singing bowls, Mel created an atmosphere of deep relaxation, helping everyone to let go of stress and find stillness.
Head of Lifestyle, Katie Schlepp, said:
“It was such a beautiful experience, and our residents absolutely loved it. Moments like these remind us how important it is to pause, breathe, and enjoy the simple joys of life together.”
The team at Orchard House expressed their gratitude to Mel for sharing her time, talent and kindness, making National Relaxation Day one to remember.

I don’t know why they are called care homes.
“Couldn’t careless homes is more appropriate”
Such a shame many families dump their loved
ones in such places, and when they sadly pass
away they are quick to show up for payday.
