6-and-a-half years after he was caught trying to meet a child for sex outside Sandown Pier, 28-year-old Joshua Powell has been handed a suspended prison sentence. Powell, most recently of Main Street, Belshill in North Lanarkshire, appeared before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court today (Friday) where he was sentenced for 2 grooming offences. On 13th January 2018, Powell attempted to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old called ‘Gemma’ outside Sandown Pier, however, when he arrived at the location there was no 13-year-old. He was confronted by members of a now-defunct paedophile sting group. The court heard how Powell had been communicating with the ‘child’ in the days leading up to their meeting, discussing sexual activity. No reason is known as to why it took so long to sentence Powell, who has previously appeared at courts in Cumbria and north of the border in Lanarkshire, for these crimes. Sentencing the former Christ the King student, His Honour Judge Ashworth handed Powell a 9-month prison sentence, suspended for 2 years. He was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation days. Powell was issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order as well as a Barring Order of the same length. He was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and pay a £140 surcharge fee.

Why is he not in prison.
Because so many of his ‘type’ are filling our prisons that , IF you haven’t heard the Labour Party are releasing prisoners early.
With unchecked arrivals arriving daily then the problem will get ever worse.
Can only hope if any children are harmed by such, it is one from parents who never voted Reform.

He did live with he’s Mum at Spring gardens up at Gunville the first time when he was as a convicted pedo.
Since he had done that he “apparently” wasn’t allowed back on the island due to unforseen circumstances.
And although he wasn’t allowed back on the island he was staying with he’s Mum and Sister at their house in Spring Gardens.

What kind of society puts our children in danger with these scumbags on the streets. The judge has given him the keys to the candy shop rather than a full term prison sentence.
I do hope that the local press in his home area publishes this, otherwise he’s not only been let off scott free, he’s also going to be free to pick up where he left off in his own region. Disgusting.
