No offences have been reported following an incident that saw a man – acting in an alarming manner – approach a young child in Ryde earlier this morning (Tuesday). Police were called at 11:11 following reports of a man acting alarmingly in Monkton Street, Ryde, during which he approached a young child and encouraged the boy to walk with him. The man was challenged by a family member of the child, before another member of the public also intervened and walked the man back to his home address whilst police were called. The child was not touched or harmed during this incident. A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson has said:
“We understand that incidents of this nature can cause alarm and concern in the wider community. “We want to reassure people that police have deployed and spoken to those involved, and have liaised with the mental health services today in relation to this man and his behaviour.
Just approaching the child and acting in an alarming manner and enchoraging the boy to walk with him. WTF other signs do they need to recognize a nonce FFS?
