The Isle of Wight’s very own Keegan Brown got off to an excellent start in the 2023 Jack’s World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam last night (Friday) by beating Simon Whitlock 6-1, but he now faces defending champion Gerwyn Price.
In the opening night of the event, Keegan ‘The Needle’ Brown demonstrated his winning ways by dominating in the match against Simon Whitlock, checking out on a double 10 to take his 6th leg and the win.
Following his victory, 30-year-old Brown – who is ranked 92nd in the world – will face Wales’ Gerwyn Price tonight (Saturday). It will be a tough Last 16 match as not only is Price the 2022 champion, but he is also ranked 4th in the world.
If Keegan Brown beats Price it would excel the St Mary’s Hospital worker to new heights, as well as propelling him into the Quarter Finals on Sunday. If he doesn’t secure the win he will still walk away with a cool £10,000 in prize money.
The World Series of Darts Finals are taking place across 4 sessions between 15th-17th September.
Tonight’s action gets underway on ITV4 from 18:00.
