Several of the biggest Isle of Wight football clubs have begun to announce their pre-season plans for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Clubs across the Isle of Wight have now revealed the fixtures they’ll be playing in preparation for the impending domestic season.
The new season, which may have caught some fans off guard amidst England’s Euro 2024 campaign, is now less than a month away. Players at clubs across the country have already reported for pre-season training.
Newport FC have announced their full pre-season schedule. The Port’s first warm-up match will see them travel to Osborne Coburg on 9th July. Their preparations will conclude with an all-Island clash against Brading Town on 30th July.
Fellow Wessex League side Cowes Sports FC have announced their first pre-season fixture will take place at home against Winchester FC on Saturday, July 5th. That game will kick off at 12:30, allowing fans to watch England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland.
The Yachtsman and their fans will be buoyed by the announcement that all but one of the 2023/24 squad is sticking with the club for this upcoming campaign.
East Cowes Victoria are yet to release their pre-season plans, but have revealed that several of their squad will be returning to Beatrice Avenue for 2024/25. The development will boost hope of a positive campaign in the Wessex League.
The fixture list for the Isle of Wight League is yet to be announced. Last season’s champions, Whitecroft & Barton Sports, are likely to be the team to beat. With domestic football now on the horizon, there will be a rapid influx of fixture announcements and new signings in the coming weeks.

ye nothing happen..more scum
I am about to get dash cams set up in my car, as I am fed up with idiot drivers who tailgate, and pull out in front of you dangerously. It’s like they try to speed you up, when you are doing the legal limit. More people should think about having them fitted, some insurance companies offer a discount if you have one fitted
You think people won’t tailgate you, if you have a dash cam? Interesting theory. The reality is people don’t give a fig. Plod won’t do anything either. Insurance companies like it because your volunteering to monitor yourself.

Unless something to hide, why flee the scene!
An accident in the dark, but still the cops don’t think it sensible to wear hi viz. It’s not being a wimp, it’s being safe, visible to others and SENSIBLE
Their health and safety reps need to have a word. They would be the first to moan if they were hit.
Gone home to sober up?
Yes exactly, most likely over the limit.
Yet more Island idiots at play.
Some idiots do speed out of Kemming road without looking sometimes. I’ve had to take evasive action to avoid this myself when coming from Ventnor and one person turned right from Kemming road. This seems what happened here with the bottom car being at fault.
The fact they fled the scene though, especially on a Saturday night, would suggest they were drink or drug driving or possibly the car stolen.
More sub-human scum…
to many cars on the roads so many of them speeding and exhaust making too much noise puts bikers to shame
In the last weeks a few took themselves of the road. So give it time, the rest will be in a hole with just the respectful bikers left.
The standard of driving, courtesy to other drivers or following the highway code is atrocious on the island. (Probably just as bad on the mainland?). Tailgating, parking on double yellow lines, drink/drug driving, not being insured/MOT/taxed, breaking the speed limit, exhausts sounding like Apollo 11 lifting off – we have it ALL! Who are these imbeciles?
That is what happens when you remove all the police. And you think reform will do better??? They are just right wing angry Tories.
