An Isle of Wight man will appear in court to face multiple charges of non-recent child sexual abuse. Michael Norman Smith, 60, formerly of Willow Way in Sandown, has been issued a summons to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday) to face the following charges:
- Rape of a child under 13
- 4 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child under 13
- 2 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child aged 13-15
- 4 counts of causing/inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- Causing/inciting a child aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity
- Causing a child under 13 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity
- Assaulting a child under 13 by touching
- Meeting a boy under the age of 16 following grooming
- Gross indecency with a child under the age of 16
- Inciting a child under the age of 16 to commit an act of gross indecency
- Indecent assault on a child under the age of 14
The charges relate to offences alleged to have been perpetrated against a boy between 1st May 2004 and 31st March 2010 on the Isle of Wight.
