Around 70 runners took part in the West Wight Road Runners’ annual ‘Let’s All Run Together’ on Wednesday (6th August) – helping to raise donations for the Island’s food bank.
Starting from the West Wight Sports Centre, participants tackled either a challenging 5.5-mile route up to the Tennyson Monument or a gentler 5K course through Afton Marsh.
Represented among the runners were members of West Wight Road Runners, Ryde Harriers, Dark Star, Isle of Wight Road Runners, Wight Tri, Vectis Academy and Wootton Bridge Runners.
The community responded generously to the call for food bank donations, filling four large boxes with long-life goods and toiletries.
After the run, everyone returned to the sports centre to enjoy refreshments and snacks provided by West Wight Road Runners members.
Special thanks were given to Chris Amy, who founded the event many years ago and is pleased to see it continuing to thrive.
