Concerns are growing for the welfare of 57-year-old Neil Youngs, who was last seen just 4 hours ago in Sandown. Police have issued an appeal for information in a bid to locate the 57-year-old, last seen at around 16:00 today (Wednesday) on Culver Parade – thought to be outside OYO Hotel. Neil is described as being white, 5ft 7ins tall, stocky and bald. He was wearing glasses, blue jeans and a dark blue t-shirt. Officers and Neil’s family are concerned for his welfare and are now turning to the community for help. If you think you’ve seen him since he went missing, or think you might know where he is, contact 999, quoting the reference number 44240369620. UPDATE @ 20:58 – The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter has been deployed to the skies above Brading Marshes, where tonight’s search is being focused.
Numerous officers are on scene at Laundry Lane conducting enquiries in the local area. WightSAR – the Island’s voluntary search and rescue team – have been called out to assist Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary. UPDATE THURSDAY @ 01:00 – HM Coastguard has now joined the search efforts with Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams tasked to the area of Whitecliff Bay, Bembridge. The search continues. UPDATE THURSDAY @ 11:15 – Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have confirmed that Neil has now been located. Thanks to everyone who shared the missing persons appeal.

Hopefully he is found safe and well
I haven’t seen him since he went missing, but I was speaking with him on Sunday. I met him (for the first time) while out beachcombing in Sandown and we chatted for 10 minutes. He came across as a nice chap and didn’t appear troubled.
FGS you aren’t missing after 4 hours – people are perefectly entitled to clear off for a day or two without telling anyone
