The Isle of Wight Golf team will be looking to bring a gold medal back home when they take to the green at L’Ancresse in Guernsey next week.
Manager George Foreman and assistant manager Brian Price will oversee both teams.
The men’s team is comprised of Ben Guy, Chris Hayward, Darren Masteron and Nat Riddett.
Both Ben – who is the current Island champion – and Chris will be competing at their first Island Games tournaments. Offering his vast experience, storied Island Games campaigner Masteron is competing in his 5th games, whilst Riddett – who is the number 1 ranked golfer on the Island – poses possibly the best chance of a medal in Guernsey.

As for the women’s team, it will be comprised of; Dawn Hodge, Lucy Burke Sophie Beardsall and Catherine Batchelor.
Island Games legend Beardsall is competing in her 9th games. She most recently won a silver medal in Gotland in 2017. Both Hodge and Burke were part of the team of silver medallists from Gotland are both competing in their 3rd games.
The last member of the team, Catherine Batchelor is making her Island Games debut.
The Isle of Wight haven’t won a single gold medal in any event in golf since 2011 -when the games were hosted here on the Island.
Action tees off from L’Ancresse from 07:30 on Tuesday 11th July and will run up until Friday 14th July – when medals will be handed out.
