The occupants of 2 cars involved in a crash at Firestone Copse near Havenstreet this evening (Thursday) have escaped injury. It was shortly before 17:45 that a Toyota Corolla and a Ford KA collided on Firestone Copse Road, in wet conditions. The lilac-coloured KA has been shunted off the road backwards, coming to rest deep in a hedge. The force of the impact has set off the grey Corolla’s airbags. Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have checked over those involved, but no injuries appear to have been sustained.
The service mobilised an ambulance crew and a rapid response paramedic. Police are now on scene coordinating the recovery of both vehicles, but the road remains open in both directions.
