West Wight’s annual Chilly Hilly 10-mile race returned on Sunday (14th December), bringing festive cheer, big hills and a strong community spirit.
Held across the multi-terrain trails of the West Wight countryside, the event welcomed runners from across the Island and beyond to take on the challenging course. Despite sunshine and mild temperatures, a stiff breeze added an extra test – but didn’t dampen the smiles, determination or seasonal atmosphere.

Organisers have thanked the National Trust and Warren Farm for allowing the route to pass through their trails and fields, as well as the volunteers, West Wight Sports and Community Centre staff and event sponsors Love Running.
Finishers received a keepsake medal before enjoying music, mulled wine and mince pies at the finish line.
Early bird entries are already open for Chilly Hilly 2026, which returns on Sunday 13th December 2026. Runners are also invited back to West Wight for the Tapnell 10 and Needles Half Marathon on the weekend of 6th–7th June 2026.
