CLASSIC FIESTA WRITTEN OFF IN LATE NIGHT SMASH WITH BMW

A front-end smash between a classic Ford Fiesta and a BMW 1-Series has led to the closure of a road on the outskirts of Ryde tonight (Thursday). Police are on scene at Stroudwood Road, Upton where a Fiesta MkII has sustained significant damage as a result of a collision with a red BMW 1-series. The incident occurred on the straight section of carriageway sometime around 22:30. No serious injuries have been sustained. Recovery of both vehicles is now underway and the road is expected to reopen shortly. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for a statement.
