UPDATED: ARREST MADE AFTER 2 ASSAULTED AT LUXURY BEMBRIDGE PROPERTY

A 31-year-old man caught in possession of a knife has been arrested after 2 people were assaulted during a disturbance at a property in Bembridge. Police were called at 19:38 on Friday evening (9th August) to reports of an incident at an address on Beach House Lane, off Lane End. A male and a female were both allegedly assaulted by a man who is reported to have been carrying a lock knife. No serious injuries were sustained. Officers attended the scene and arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of battery, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and breach of a restraining order. He remained in custody yesterday afternoon, with further updates expected from Police today. UPDATE @ 09:50 – 31-year-old Liam Trott, of Grange Road in Shanklin, has been charged with 4 counts of assault by beating, criminal damage, engaging in coercive or controlling behaviour, breach of a restraining order and possession of a knife in a public place. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday).
