The 65,000 tonne aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth will fire off a naval gun salute this evening (Tuesday). The aircraft carrier – which has been sailing for a week after leaving Rosyth in Scotland – is on her way back to Portsmouth and is due to sail past the Isle of Wight. Before reaching Portsmouth, she will stop off near Cowes and fire a gun salute in support of the Cowes Week Regatta. This is the first time this ship has been off Cowes, and the ship will complete a turning manoeuvre off the town and will carry out a sail past as well as exchanging gun salutes with the Royal Yacht Squadron. HMS Queen Elizabeth is due to pass the Prince Consort Buoy at around 18:15 with the ceremonial salute set to take place at between 18:30 and 18:50. Times may be subject to change.

What a waste of money these were. Tories built them to look good, billions stolen by their mates. Ukraine has shown, sea drones win all the time. China now have small attack boats that will drop 100 sea drones that will swam a big ship and sink it. We never needed one and now we have two paperweights that we can’t afford to run. Could have done with that money to deal with all the closed prisons and lack of police. Well done tory voters, when your stuff gets nicked and the thief gets away with it, remember you voted for it for 14 years.

The clue is in the name dimwit “Aircraft Carrier” – you see as amazing as drones are, proper fighter aircraft / bombers are often needed on the battlefield. Why not move to China pal, you might feel safer there and they might understand you better than we do?
