63-year-old Terry Lewis has been remanded in custody to appear at the Crown Court accused of holding an air gun to a person’s head, as well as shooting at neighbouring properties. Lewis, previously of New Road in Brading but now of no fixed abode, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning charged with 2x possession of an imitation firearm, namely an air rifle, with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence and 1x assault by beating. It’s alleged that the 63-year-old fired an airgun at a neighbouring property and its occupants during the early hours of 18th August, an incident previously reported on by Island Echo. In the days before that, Lewis is also alleged to have held an air gun to the head of another person in a domestic-related incident. The matter is so serious that it has been sent up to the Isle of Wight Crown Court where the case will be heard on 23rd September. Terry Lewis has been remanded in custody until that time.
