Police are investigating reports that a 15-year-old girl was approached and offered a lift by a man she does not know in Newport earlier this morning (Sunday).
The incident took place at around 07:25 in the Nodehill area of Newport whilst the youngster was completing her paper round.
It is said that an IC4 male slowly followed the girl in a yellow car before approaching her and trying to persuade her to get in the vehicle.
The situation has sparked concern for the teen’s parents, prompting them to report the man’s behaviour to Police.
Hampshire Constabulary are treating the report as a suspicious incident and are conducting related enquiries.
