Firefighters last night (Thursday) tackled two car fires in the West Wight town of Freshwater within hours of each other.
At around 22:00 the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to a vehicle fire in Camp Road. One appliance from Freshwater Fire Station quickly attended the scene and returned to station by 22:40.
The night wasn’t over for the retained crew though, who were called out again at 00:51 to another car fire, this time at Silcombe Lane. Crews spent 30 minutes on the scene using hose reels to extinguish the fire.
