2022 Displays

Congratulations to Goldcrest Close, Carisbrooke for winning Light up the Wight 2022 and scooping £400 prize money!

2nd place – Wellesley Way, Newport (£200)
3rd place – Bannock Road, Whitwell (£100)

The cost of living crisis meant fewer big displays lit up for 2022 – meaning a reduction in entries from 37 to 22 – although it is hoped that things will return to normal this coming Christmas.

Thousands of votes were cast by members of the public throughout December, demonstrating that the passion for Christmas lights is stronger than ever before.

Over £10,000 was raised for charity by those displays taking part in Light up the Wight 2022.

Southern Vectis was able to once again run their annual tour bus, which proved to be a sell-out success. Thanks to the Island’s bus operator for sponsoring Light up the Wight, showing their continued support for the competition and map.
