WEATHER WARNING IN PLACE FOR RAIN TOMORROW

yellowweatherwarning18092014UPDATED: Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the Island once again tomorrow (Friday) with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office in place.

The weather front is expected to creep in later tonight with the risk increasing and then continuing through much of Friday.

UPDATED FRIDAY: Although rainfall overnight wasn’t as heavy as expected, the Met Office have extended their yellow weather warning until 10:oo tomorrow morning (Saturday).

Further heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue throughout tonight and into tomorrow morning, with the main risk receding eastwards to become mostly confined to the east of the yellow area by then.

Islanders are being warned about the potential for isolated disruption due to surface water flooding, lightning strikes and hail.
