The yellow ‘be aware’ warning is in place from midday on Friday until early on Saturday morning, just 5 days after the Island was subject to 99mph winds and torrential rain as the St Jude storm hit.
15 to 30mm of rain is likely, with gusts of up to 60mph to be expected in some areas. Coastal flooding is also a possibility.
UPDATE THURSDAY: The Met Office have this morning issued a further weather warning of heavy rain between 18:00 on Sunday and midday on Monday, concluding what is set to be a wet and windy weekend across the Isle of Wight.
The weather warning for Saturday morning has been lifted, however.
