Hampshire Constabulary are this week appealing for witnesses to come forward after vandals caused around £4,200 of damage to two contracting vehicles left on site at Christ The King College, Newport.
Sometime between 18:00 last Wednesday (19th June) and 07:00 the following morning, a Volvo excavator and a JCB suffered extensive damage to their windows after being attacked.
The vehicles had been left on site at the college’s Sixth Form as part of ongoing building work.
PC Martin Egerton said:
“There is a public footpath at the rear of the College and the building site is clearly visible through the fencing.
“We are appealing for anyone who many have used this footpath during the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious to contact us.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Egerton at Newport Police Station by phoning 101. Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111
