This years V-Dub festival, which for the first time was hosted near Freshwater, has been hailed as a sell out success with thousands upon thousands of VW owners and spectators alike descending on the Afton Farm site over the weekend.
With a wide variety of music and arts across the showground, the Volkswagen cars – both new and old – were not the only attraction of the weekend, with artists performing across the former Isle of Wight Festival site throughout all four days of the event, running from Thursday until Sunday.
Now in its 4th year, the move to a more rural location from the former home at Northwood County Showground proved not to be detrimental, with tickets selling out completely on most days. The sun kept shining, with spirits not dampened by the odd heavy rain shower.
The annual Show and Shine competition was held with awards for the top 10, Best in Show and Visitor’s choice. The weekend also included a drive-out on Saturday morning passing the iconic Military Road, as captured by Graham Reading.
The festival went without fault, with no serious crime or incidents reported.
