Met Office meteorologists are predicting that most places across the country will enjoy some sunshine during the busy Bank Holiday weekend before an area of low pressure begins to move in from the Atlantic during Sunday evening.
Saturday is set to be largely fine, however a few showers are possible. The good weather is set to continue through much of Sunday, with the cloud, rain and strong winds moving in towards the end of the day.
Unfortunately, Bank Holiday Monday currently looks quite unsettled with outbreaks of rain and brisk winds affecting many areas.
This weekend is one of the busiest for the Island with the annual Scooter Rally taking place in Ryde, the 40th Island Steam Show at Havenstreet and the traditional fun, games and carnival at St Helens.
Chief Meteorologist, Martin Young, said:
“We are expecting a good deal of dry weather this weekend before an area of low pressure moves across the UK by Monday. It is likely that Sunday will have the best of the dry and bright weather, with rain and brisk winds affecting many places on Monday”.
