Visitors to the annual Cowes Week regatta are set for a triple helping of fantastic aerial displays tomorrow night (Friday) as the famous firework finale takes place in the skies above East and West Cowes.
The evening will begin at 19:10 with the high-speed RAF Typhoon Display Team, who will fly across the River Medina at 450 knots at the start of a 10 minute performance, leaving the area following a climb to 8000ft.
At 19:20 The Red Arrows will once again grace the skies above the Solent for their 2014 display which features some new moves and a celebratory 50 display livery on each of the 9 aircraft.
The fireworks will shoot into the skies at 21:30, rounding off the Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week for another year.
As in 2013, East Cowes Esplanade is closed to vehicles from 13:30 tomorrow afternoon, with the exception of a limited number of disabled drivers.
Parking is available in the Council’s long stay car park off Maresfield Road. The seafront, Cambridge Road, Maresfield Road, Columbine Road and Albany Road all will have restricted parking for Friday afternoon and evening.
