PICTURE GALLERY: The streets of Ventnor were packed yesterday evening (Wednesday) for Ventnor’s Main Carnival, which displayed a myriad of colourful floats and a medley of fantastic music performed by a variety of Island bands.
Her Majesty’s Coastguard Rescue Team from Ventnor lead the procession through the town center, which attracted a bumper entry of carnival floats – some of which had not been seen at other Island carnivals.
The annual event, which has been hailed a success, set off from Albert Street at 19:00 providing 40 minutes of enjoyment for spectators with a notable number of individual carnival entries, something that has been lacking at other events.
The carnival returns to Ventnor on Saturday for the illuminated procession moving off at 21:00.
