Wales rugby international, BBC broadcaster and Isle of Wight resident, Cliff Morgan, has died aged 83.
The legendary rugby great captained for the British & Irish Lions and won nearly 30 caps for Wales, before becoming a commentator and later on, the head of BBC’s outside broadcasts.
Mr Morgan moved to Bembridge with his wife, Pat, 9 years ago. Shortly after, Cliff was diagnosed with cancer of the vocal chords.
Getting involved with community life on the Island, Cliff was a great supporter of Newport’s Riverside Center and also opened the Earl Mountbatten Hospice’s charity shop in Bembridge last year.
