Staff at the Carisbrooke Priory were so impressed with the way Island Roads staff resurfaced the highway outside the Whitcombe Road retreat, they invited the crew back for a complementary afternoon tea.
The Priory’s vision is to offer a place for anyone to find peace of mind and to prevent sickness and stress through prayer. As such staff were keen that the extensive highways resurfacing work was completed with as little disruption as possible.
Georgina Gosden, Secretary of the Priory said:
“Every time we phoned Island Roads, they were extremely helpful and answered any queries we had. From the moment the surfacing team arrived, their attitude and assistance to our staff and visitors was first class. We felt it was only fitting that we should thank the team for ensuring we were not disrupted during this important work.”
Keith Gourlay, Construction Manager for Island Roads added:
“All our staff recognise how vital it is to minimise disruption while we complete our works. I am pleased to hear that the efforts of the team has not gone unnoticed and I hope this offers reassurance ahead of works in other areas that we will go that extra mile to assist residents and businesses wherever we can. I know everyone at Island Roads thought this was a lovely gesture from Carisbrooke Priory.”
The surfacing works at Whitcombe Road mark over 100,000 m2 of completed road surfacing. The surfacing programme is continuing during the day and night right across the Island.
