MEDICS from the Isle of Wight Search and Rescue team have been thanked for their swift actions after saving the life of an elderly woman.
At around 15:00 on Saturday afternoon, a medic on board the Search and Rescue Ambulance was flagged down outside Shanklin Conservative Club by a member of the general public to assist with a elderly lady who had fell and suffered a very serious head injury.
The crew gave the lady oxygen and immediate medical treatment, which is believed to have saved her life.
The medics were thanked by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service for their life-saving treatment and dealing with the casualty until paramedics arrived on scene.
