A pair of Red Pandas are settling in to their new home on the Isle of Wight today (Tuesday), a first for the Island.
Amazon World in Newchurch welcomed the two female pandas from Kent yesterday evening, having waited a number of years to get the animals to the Island. It is the first time pandas have been on the Isle of Wight, making it a rememberable day for all involved.
Traveling over on the 17:00 car ferry sailing from Portsmouth, the pandas were safely delivered to the popular Zoo park attraction near Arreton and were this morning introduced to their new habitat. They are both now getting used to their surroundings.
Visitors to Amazon World will be able to see the animals, named Xiao-xing and Mai-xing, from today.
