Christine Swift, accounts clerk, and Jonathan Green, marketing and communications director, have been working for Red Funnel for 25 years while Carole Harding, administration manager, is celebrating her 40th year with the firm.
Carole started working with Red Funnel as an office junior in West Cowes when she was 16, and has worked her way up through the company working in roles including reservations manager and systems manager. She moved to working in Southampton after a promotion some 20 years ago.
“I’ve loved seeing the company grow since I joined in 1974. So much has changed yet Red Funnel has retained a real family feel and I’m lucky to have worked with some great people in many different areas.”
Evolving technology has had an impact on the business over the past 25 years. Christine said:
“When I first started my job, everything was done manually. We only had two computers in the accounts department, and a big machine in the back office that powered it! We also spent a lot of time banking cheques and manually inputting invoices, which is now done much more quickly.”
“Red Funnel has more than doubled in size in 25 years and it’s great to have been part of such a major success story. The future looks just as exciting with a raft of customer focused initiatives and developments in the pipeline.”

Christine, Jonathan and Carole each received a bottle of Champagne, a cake with a photo of themselves on it and a gift from the company.
