AN Island resident is today appealing for witnesses to come forward after their car was hit by another vehicle, which then made off.
Island Echo reader, Liz Urry, parked her car in Sandown High Street yesterday between 09:30 and 10:00 when it was hit by an unknown vehicle which failed to stop, causing substantial damage to her pride and joy.
Speaking to our news team yesterday, Liz said: “This incident once again highlights the danger of large vehicles travelling up the high street, which is a growing problem in Sandown. Buses and coaches regularly mount the kerb to get through. Highways need to address this narrow cut through and bus route before someone gets injured”
