Police are this week appealing for members of the public to come forward with information after containers housing deckchairs were damaged on Ryde Beach.
The locked containers are believed to have been damaged by vandals sometime between Friday 27th June and Sunday 29th June, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.
The owner of the deckchair hire company has said:
“In addition to my financial loss the condition which the containers are left in after the damage could pose a hazard to innocent beachgoers. I do not want an innocent person to be hurt because of another person’s thoughtless actions.”
Anyone who may have witnessed the damage being caused or has any information which could help identify those responsible should contact PC Rich Hindle at Ryde Police Station by phoning 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
