HONG Kong Express in Ryde have been told that their plans for a temporary bar on the seafront will not be allowed to go ahead.
The restaurant, located on the seafront close to Union Street, put forward plans for a temporary bar outside the building during the busy Scooter Rally in August.
Unfortunately, the Isle of Wight Council’s licensing sub committee refused the application due to concerns relating to public safety.
MEANWHILE, plans are afoot for the Scooter Rally gathering to move to it’s former North Walk location after former Island DJ Alex Dyke proposed filming the event for television.
Mr Dyke, who now works on BBC Radio Solent, believes that the North Walk location would provide a more scenic backdrop for filming.
