Newport’s HMV store is set to close its doors for the final time today (Saturday).
As reported by Island Echo earlier this month, the nationwide music store, located in the High Street, is to close following a negotiation break down with the landlord.
It was revealed by the store’s management, with a notice placed in the window, that the landlord will not commit to HMV as a tenant – instead taking favour in a convenience store, believed to be The Co-Operative.
Back in February of this year, the company went into administration but the Island’s local outlet was saved from closure.
