The Isle of Wight has been appointed a new High Sheriff by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Mary Case, who is known across the Island for her bee-keeping and her connections with the Farmers Market, was officially appointed yesterday (Wednesday) at Buckingham Palace.
Nick Hayward will be leaving the position of the existing High Sheriff on 8th April when Mary takes over the important and much-respected role.
