Vodafone customers are facing yet more problems with mobile phone signal in Newport following the failure of a mast in the town.
‘No service’ has been the message for those in Newport for the past two days with customers unable to send or receive phone calls and texts.
This latest outage comes following years of problems for mobile users on the Vodafone network, who are still without 3G in the town despite 4G being rolled out across the country.
Vodafone have confirmed the downtime is due to a hardware problem at one its 2G sites, believed to be on top of County Hall in the High Street.
A spokesperson has told Island Echo:
“We’d like to say sorry to customers in the area who may have been experiencing any problems with our coverage at the moment.”
Customers on O2 have also been affected.
