The famous Minghella ice cream company is set to say goodbye to Wootton after more than 30 years as it is announced the factory will relocate during 2015.
The Island-owned business, who manufacture more than 200 varieties of ice cream and sorbet, was founded by Eddie Minghella and his late wife Gloria back in 1950 and has operated out of the Wootton factory since the early 1980’s.
As the business develops under the control of Eddie’s daughter Gioia, plans have been revealed to sell the existing premises and relocate elsewhere on the Island, although the new Island-based location is yet to be confirmed.
The news comes as Eddie announces his retirement from the company at the age of 93. It follows the sad death of his wife, Gloria back in March.
