A new 60 station ToneZone gym, activity & dance studio and new dry side changing rooms were officially unveiled at Medina Leisure Centre last night.
The ribbon was cut by 80-year-old Derek Chester, who has been going to Medina’a gym since the original one opened in 1996.
The state of the art gym, with 60 top of the range pieces of equipment, will open to the public on Monday 8th April. The activity/dance studio, which features a mirrored wall, wireless speaker system and spring floor, will open from next Tuesday, the 2nd April. The new changing rooms will be open from Friday.
The swimming pools at the leisure centre are currenlty closed until July for refurbishment. An increased pool programme is in place at The Heights in Sandown while these works continue. Work to increase the car park capacity at Medina is also continuing which will see an additional 100 spaces.
A new health suite at The Heights opens tomorrow.
