VIDEO: A life-saving Island charity has been chosen to appear in a brand new advertisement for a national bank.
The Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat received a grant from the Lloyds Community Fund last year to fund much-needed equipment for the East Wight charity. Now, the volunteer organisation stars in an advert for Lloyds Bank after being chosen from some 1,600 other organisations up and down the country.
The 37-second long video – which was shot earlier this month – features the voice of Mark Birch, Operations Manager for the rescue organisation, as well as a line-up of some of the lifeboat’s volunteer crew members who provide cover 365 days a year in the Sandown Bay area.
Operations manager Mark Birch, who provided the voice-over for the advert, said:
“We filmed it earlier this month and it was great fun.
“We were really pleased to be invited to do it and really happy with the final product.”
All of the SSILB crew would like to thank Lloyds Bank for choosing them to be in the new advert, the advertising company that visited the station and Nigel Millard for taking the photographs alongside the organisation’s supporters that have allowed the station to get to where it is today.
The new equipment purchased will be detailed this week – without the public’s votes SSILB would not have the much needed bit of kit to keep their crew safe whilst at sea and keep you safe.
