GURIT, the Island’s largest private sector employer, has welcomed plans for wind turbines to be erected on the Island.
The company, based on Riverway Industrial Estate, Newport, have explained how wind turbines on the Island would be good for business and the local economy.
As reported last week, a meeting is to be held at Cowes Yacht Haven next Monday to discuss proposed plans for a wind farm on the outskirts of Wellow, West Wight, despite local residents fighting against the wind farm for over 10 years.
