Garmin, manufacturers of GPS equipment, have announced their continued support of the Isle of Wight Walking Festival by becoming Title Sponsor of the Island’s second walking event this year, the Autumn Walking Weekend.
Having partnered with the Isle of Wight Walking Festival in May 2014, Garmin is also supporting the 2014 Autumn Walking Weekend, which takes place from 24th – 27th October.
The Autumn Walking Weekend allows participants to choose from over 60 walks to experience over the course of the four days, all of which absorb the Isle of Wight’s breathtaking scenery and terrain.
Dawn Ramsay, General Manager at Garmin, commented on the sponsorship saying:
“We’re really excited to be sponsoring the 2014 Autumn Walking Weekend. The festival gives people of all ages the chance to get out and explore the fantastic scenery and culture of the Isle of Wight. At Garmin we are really passionate about the outdoors and want to help people get the most out of their activities. As a local Hampshire employer we are proud to be sponsoring Europe’s largest walking festival, right on our doorstep.”
Garmin’s outdoor business segment is a leading provider of navigation and communication equipment to retail and OEM customers. Garmin’s portfolio includes the industry’s most sophisticated array of touchscreen navigation tools, action cameras and mapping systems, and these products will be on display at the upcoming Autumn Walking Weekend.
Senior Events Officer for the Isle of Wight Council, Elaine Cesar, says:
“Once again, I am absolutely thrilled to have the support of Garmin, a brand that is extremely well-regarded amongst our walkers. Having experienced such a successful event back in May this year, I am convinced the Autumn Walking Weekend will follow suit and prove to be a fantastic four days for all concerned. To have such a major player in the international outdoor market endorse the event is invaluable in our aim to raise the profile of the Isle of Wight and the appeal it can have to outdoor enthusiasts everywhere.”
