FREEZING temperatures and up to 5cm of snow are predicted for the Island by the Met Office for Sunday and Monday.
A spell of sleet and snow is expected, affecting southern England on Sunday night and Monday morning. Snow will be accompanied by a strong easterly wind which will accentuate the very cold feel. Accumulations of 3 – 5 cm could occur quite widely over southern counties, and the public are advised to be aware of this wintry hazard.
Local weather forecaster Wroxall Weather have predicted up to 12cm of snow to fall across the Island. Both predictions could lead to severe disruption.
Island Echo will be updating 24hrs a day over the weekend and into Monday morning keeping you up-to-date with the snow fall, disruption and fantastic photographs.
