A suspicious object floating in the water off of Sandown sparked a call out for HM Coastguard yesterday afternoon (Saturday).
Members of Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were called to the area surrounding Sandown Pier at around 14:00 following reports of an unidentified object floating just below the water line in the bay.
After further investigations, the call out was deemed a false alarm with good intent when it was discovered that the object spotted was a dustbin.
